Colors of Africa 2 Artwork

As a South African, this artwork was inspired by the love for my country, the colour and diversity of our nation and the strength of our women as we have had to endure much over the years to be recognised as deserving of equal rights and fair treatment. Women continue to be ill-treated within the boundaries of their homes and the colour represents the diverse qualities that make a woman who she is, with a call to hour, love and truly value the essence of who women are. I want viewers to see women as more than black or white, but in colour, diverse, equal and valued. I used the digital medium to express how I felt more accurately and the style as simple, colourful and uncomplicated.
