ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Loh-e-Qurani (لوحِ قرآنی) is a collection (table) of Huroof-e-Muqattaat found in the Holy Quran. These blessed words are a divine secret and they appear at the beginning of 29 Surahs, just after Bismillah. Five Surahs are named for their Muqattaat: Taa-Haa (Chapter 20), Yaa-Seen (Chapter 36), Saad (Chapter 38), Haa-Meem as-Sajdah (Fussilat, Chapter 41) and Qaaf (Chapter 50). Seven consecutive chapters (Surahs 40-46) of the Quran begin with Haa-Meem. The Juz 1 (Alif-Laam-Meem) and Juz 26 (Haa-Meem) of the Quran are also known by their commencing Muqattaat.
