About The Artwork
The Bouquet of Marigolds is one of a series painted in aid of the National Brain Appeal and was exhibited in the Oxo Tower, London in 2020. It is my tribute to the ordinary things that helped to save lives during the Covid 19 epidemic. Marigolds are the most recognisable protective gloves and they also fulfilled the brief that the appeal should be in praise of ordinary things.

I have worked throughout my career as a sculptor, mosaicist, film maker, painter and writer. My introduction to film making was through the director Peter Watkins for whom I worked as a student on the films Culloden and The War Game. My introduction to writing was through BBC, The Guardian and The Irish Times. My introduction to sculpture was through Eric Schilsky in Edinburgh and to painting through Mark Ainsworth at Belfast College of Art.
