This gigantic oil stick drawing is 8 feet high by 4 1/2 feet wide. It is drawn on archival roll paper and is unframed. Framing is best if these tall drawings are treated with a weighted strip at the bottom and a hanging stick at the top. If purchased I can developed the appropriate way to hang this piece that it lies flat. This might entailed adding a fabric around the piece and treating it like a Chinese hanging (see Chimney Rocks drawing for a method). The Rough cut edges at bottom and top wold be finished by method of hanging. This work is inspired by the anatomical drawings of Da Vinci, the Vanitas paintings and drawings from the Renaissance through the 17th century, and the drawings of Adam and Eve Albrecht Durer and Lucas Cranach. These images are given a modern expressionistic touch by the X-ray image of Adam's body and the post apocalyptic skinned Adam under the leafless tree. But hope is incorporated into the drawing in the form of the apple with one leaf. Life appears in the hopeless world. The giantism is a response to the contemporary need for art to be big.
