About The Artwork
My grandmother inspired this piece because this is her back porch. It is were she washes everybody's clothes. other reasons that it was done was back in the sixties the maytag washing machine did both the wasing and drying. I want the viewer to relate to how things have changed over the last fifthy years. I chose the medium graphite because back in the early sixties , everything seem just black and white.
