Bicycle Tea Party Drawing

I often begin the day drawing from photographs I've seen. I should annotate better; I don't remember the photographer. I drew these two people from an old photograph, no doubt staged by someone who choreographs bicyclists, no mean feat. Life is comprised of ceremonies like this, not always conducted on bicycles. I don't recall if I added the teapot and cup myself, but if I've borrowed this from the choreographer I owe them a debt for this too. It was drawn quickly for a card I gave to my wife for her birthday. We keep it on our mantelpiece. I should also confess that I have not ridden a bicycle for years, though I own a handsome old black English bicycle which sits in the garage and triggers a frisson of memory each time I walk past. I used to navigate the city on a bike, back before I could afford a car. (Artists find cars expensive.) So, to bicyclists everywhere: Cheers! And to tea drinkers the same. (I drink six mugs of plain black tea every day. With a bit of milk...)
