Detail #1
This painting is part of a new series of five artworks. This is the 4th one on the theme of Bird's extinction.

I feel sad when thinking about this loss!
I hope my painting participates in this battle against this destruction. The danger of bird extinction particularly affects me. This work was made thinking about their cause. The charcoal lines are strong and dark like the emergency is. They also are dynamic like lapse of time... The spiral of time is turning and the loss is irreparable ...

Long vertical painting/drawing mixed media on heavy non woven paper 200h x 53w cm. (78.7h x 20.9w in).

Delivered rolled in a tube.

+++ Advice: It is possible to frame the artwork or to paste it on a wooden panel which will then hang on the wall‌. The paper used is solid enough to be pasted. Or I can also offer you a presentation in 'Kakemono' with two wooden sticks at each end with a suspension with a rope from the top (on request).

Florence Laurent Minouflet (b. 1968) is a French painter living nearby the Mediterranean sea. Since infancy , art is her passion. Self-taught painter she has followed many workshops with renowned painters. She was trained in landscapes painting by Brian Blood, one of California’s most important "plein air" impressionist artists. She studied still lifes and live models drawing with Estelle Lacombe, seasonned local painter nearby Montpellier. She also practiced watercolor with one of the most famous French watercolorist and author, Maryse Demay. She has been part of a six years workshop with Marielle Dormoy, sculptor and painter. After confirming her skillset with realistic figuration paintings in her early years, she spent the last ten years creating and perfecting her own technique. A personal approach between surrealism and expressionism. The work is carried out in a first stage by freeing herself from reason, letting instinct give a great freedom to the gesture. In a second step, a reflection gives meaning to the shapes, colors and traces present. She deconstructs or reconstructs the composition, gives depth, works the nuances with glazing medium. While adding texture, color, and complexity to the painting, the subject appears from inconscient. Nature is one of her preferred inspiration , where she likes inviting the viewer for a moment of meditation. Acrylic painting is mostly used because it allows a wide range of effects : impasto, sgraffito, dilution like watercolor, glazing, splattering, palet knife...etc It can be combined with pastels, ink, oil paint. Florence Laurent likes to experiment with material effects and science of mixing colors. . She works with canvas, cardboard or wood as supports. Several layers are made of thin glazes from a limited palette. When painting, she is completely immersed in the process and feels like in a parallel space and time : a deep meditative experiment . She builds a reverberating relationship with the canvas, a push and pull of chance and control. VISIT MY WEB SITE www.ARTYFLO.COM ! _____________________________________________
