About The Artwork

The Queen reminding the British recently that it is ok to surpass God's will and it is not ok to follow your heart when appointing Prince William as her heir and skipping her son Prince Charles because of the unpopularity of Camilla, result of a lifelong media hysteria against Camilla, picturing her as a bad woman. Everybody forgetting that Camilla was the woman Charles wanted to marry when Diana Spencer wasn't even on the horizon but the Queen was against it. The Queen's choice resembling the decision of the British Parliament in the case of Mrs Simpson.

Lily Ann Altman is a storyteller, often creating series of drawings or supersized cartoons, which are then numbered Artwork I, Artwork II, Artwork III etc. Her work is ink or pencil and charcoal on paper. She has been experimenting with contemporary art since 2013, originally being schooled in classical music. "Observing fine detail is a habit, transcending the medium. Most artists are Michelangelo's to some degree and they try to speak different languages of art out of a need of expression. And whatever the medium, it's about emotions. Reducing reality to a minimalist piece of art in order to show the essence is the exact same thing as playing a complicated piano passage in a simple way. I always ask myself the question: why would anyone want to look at my art? Ideally there has to be a story behind the work that will move you or make you think or laugh. That is I think what should be the aim of any form of art." There are no prints made available by the artist on this site or anywhere else. The originals are for sale through Saatchiart.com only.
