About The Artwork

The artist draws his inspiration from his inner state. His process is one of automatic creation which can later be analyzed in the same manner as Carl Gustav Jung analyzed dreams. The chaotic lines represent the state of the world, as reflected in the artist's mind. The speed with which the artist uses the brushes is symbolism for the hastiness of everyday life. When the brush or pencil picks up speed, its ink doesn't manage to leave as much of a trace, sometimes even leaving the paper and thereby skipping the opportunity to leave any mark at all. In some of the drawings in this series, the observer can see multiple lines intersecting, contrasting and enhancing each other. Every line represents a person going through his or her life. Some of the lines leave a more significant impression than others and are more visible from afar. Some leave a smaller footprint. Some moving along more graciously than others. This A3 sized artwork is the first drawing in the series called Chaos Therapy. A series of drawings that investigates the hastiness and chaos of everyday life.
