I first started noticing chickens when I looked out of the window one day whilst at my life drawing class ! There they were, lined up,watching what was going on inside the barn. I had to sketch them,and quickly before they moved ! I eventually learned a lot from my need to capture the essence of those chickens at that moment. About their inquisitiveness,their individuality,their likes,their nurturing instinct and the way that they seem to connect with people, especially children.I try to convey the warm feeling that an animal can create within us, and of what we can learn from them.....all with a few strokes of a pencil, and straight from the heart !
