inema Club” Mixed media (Watercolor, ink, ink pen and acrylic) hand painted original, 400g cotton paper. The size of the painting: 27.6 W x 39.4 H x 0 D in 70 x 100 cm. Welcome to my online gallery! I was born in the Ex Soviet Union, in Tallinn, in 1982; Currently live in Portugal. Currently my biggest production consists in 2-D work – drawing and painting. My works live in a paradoxical existence between the scrupulous delicacy of the details and the brutality of the iconography used simultaneously. Among the vivid colors that stand out in a first contact with the work and the dark side of death also present in it. All my cultural baggage - russian, estonian and portuguese - is symbolically represented on canvas. The collage of images depicting violence and despair is solidified with colorful embroidery, the presence of femininity, the solidity of feelings and colors in an optimistic view of life. I give the clear preferences to the mixing of techniques on canvas, such as industrial adhesives, fabrics, acrylic and oil paint. In my projects there is always the intention to represent the insatiable and boundless society, a fetish present in almost everything that we surround, addictions and chaos of the day-to-day. My studio is located in Lisbon, near by Campo Grande. In the last couple of years cinema has become very important and peculiar in the life of our society. Due to the quarantine theaters have closed. Gone are the popcorn smells, the vip zones, the darkness of the huge movie theaters, the lines to buy tickets. Many sought this lost space in the screens of their rooms, the sofa gained a new presence. In a world of closed streets, films managed to enrich the lives of many people. Personally I have an enormous respect for cinematography and I like to go to the cinema to "charge my batteries" as a painter for inspiration. If you have any question please contact me. I look forward for your mails! Best regards from Portugal Vera Fonseka
