About The Artwork
This painting is a reflection of where I have been. throughout my life I have always craved for a happier life. Though I have always been surrounded by beautiful places my spirit has never found peace. In my journey of life I have been an emotional mess. Being and doing what was hoped from me or even expected from me. This emotional mess became my downfall into depression and anxiety combined. To the point where giving up was my only escape. Until I escaped, I escaped into the world of drawing, slowly becoming aware of the Surreal artworks, trying it and creating my own surreal world on paper. Gradually coming out of anxiety and then eventually depression. I enjoy using chalk as I find they create a texture that of smoothness and softness, in parts of the illustration I have used gesso to enhance the movement of the wave ,showing the passed turbulence in my head.
