In my art, I show the connection between wild nature, primitive art and beautiful, fascinating modern human creations such as music, art, literature. My work tends to focus on the environment, the evolution of humanity, the increasing amount of people, cars and industry on the planet, and the consequences this has on nature. People really need to think about how to explore this world without doing any harm to it; how to treat it with love and care. Humans should find a way of communicating with nature, observing and following it, working with it, but not against it. African art goes back into the mists of time, with the earliest examples being figures of people and animals carved into rocks. African works of art, masks, sculptures and other ritual implements, are a way to get supernatural powers so as to communicate with nature. Few people outside Africa knew about African artifacts until the 1900's. Not long after, it became a major influence in Western art. African art has played a significant role in the culture and history of the world. Its distinguishing characteristics have influenced and inspired me. I’m also inspired by nature itself and the great persistence of the earth to recapture everything that once belonged to it. It’s impossible to explain the meaning of all pictures. Each person can take something a little different from the same drawing. There is a message in each of them, but there is no wrong or right message that each person can receive.
