About The Artwork
This is a pencil portrait of the great Norwegian author and Nobel prize winner Sigrid Undset at the age of eleven, the year she lost her father. It is inspired by a old Sepia colored photo of her at the same age. The drawing is on a sepia colored high quality paper and is signed in the front. I wanted to communicate the sadness and feeling of loss in the young girl, but also her determination as she used this painful experience to became a wonderful writer later in her life.
