About The Artwork
La charreada is a traditional Mexican cultural event recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. I am fortunate to be able to attend numerous charreadas because I am living on the Texas border, enjoying the hospitality of our neighbors by sharing this sports festival. I draw not only the activities called suertes, but special moments that are lived on the arena, highlighting the social implications that I observe among competitors, family, the public, and workers. 140 lb.
