Erinyes Drawing

The Erinyes, also known as the Furies, were female chthonic deities of vengeance in ancient Greek religion and mythology. A formulaic oath in the Iliad invokes them as "the Erinyes, that under earth take vengeance on men, whosoever hath sworn a false oath". I find drawing animals extremely relaxing. I like tales and stories where women can shift shape into animals to become more powerful. Exploring the powerful inner female is a constant in my work. Any woman is subjected to despise, anywhere in the world, to some degree. Strong female characters from mythology are always a good source of female power, an inspiration, and nowadays it is women's duty to bring all this power back.
