About The Artwork

This is a portrait of a face in motion, in which ideally there are contained the peculiarity of the youthful age: dreamy expression and, at the same time, tension and dynamism. Here is represented a tense face, turned towards a dream, a destination or an opportunity, in the push for life of the youth. The world represent a vast environment, the great stage in which to stage the future. In particular, the placid energy in the expression and the slight twist of the portraited face are the compendium of an attitude both concrete and idealist. The face inspires a calm and vaguely disordered strenght, ready to express itself

Professor of History, Italian and Latin Language and Literature at upper secondary school. Resides in the province of Brescia. Has amatorial passion for drawing, above all and mainly for portraiture performed with dry techniques, such as pastel and pencil, and inspired by sixteenth-century models and baroque age. I believe that the classic portrait genre is easy to use; the choice for graphite pencil portrait, the sanguine portrait and sepia pencil portrait is synonymous with rigor in execution, but also with pure simplicity and timeless spontaneity. The choice of these expressive tools and the subjects to portray is linked to the desire to precisely drawing life, intelligence, the synthesis of a moment. The titles of the portraits are in French, in homage to the art critic Edouard Pommier, author of a study on Renaissance art in Italy and on the portrait and its stylistics implications, linked to reflection on art over the centuries. Each drawing is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the author. The packaging consists of placing the work, after the application of a fixator, in a frame, depending on the size and eventually equipped with a passepartout, with a protective glass, a carton box and/or polystyrene wrapping and an external paper wrapping.
