About The Artwork

The Statue of Liberty stood tall and proud, overlooking the bustling city of New York. She had been a symbol of hope and freedom for generations, a beacon of light for those seeking a better life in the United States. As she gazed out over the city, the Statue felt a sense of both pride and sadness. Pride for all the progress that had been made, for the millions of people who had come to America to make a new life for themselves. But also sadness for the struggles that still remained, for the injustices that so many faced, even in this land of opportunity. But despite the challenges that lay ahead, the Statue remained steadfast and resolute. She knew that the people of New York were strong and resilient, that they would continue to work towards a better future, no matter what obstacles they faced. And so the Statue stood, her torch held high, a reminder of the ideals and values that had made America great. And as the sun began to set over the city, casting a warm glow over the buildings and streets, the Statue knew that there was still hope for a brighter tomorrow

Instagram profile: ----------------------- https://www.instagram.com/liebneranthony Education: -------------- 2011 - National Diploma in Fine and Applied Arts Tshwane University of Technology Pretoria, South Africa Artist statement: ---------------------- "I can't help but reflect on the beauty of everyday life. The simple moments that often go unnoticed, like a mother and child walking hand in hand, or the way the sunlight filters through the trees on a lazy afternoon. I've always been drawn to the raw, exposed instincts that make us human. The way we move and interact with the world around us. And so, I've made it my mission to capture these moments in my artwork. Through my expressionistic style, I've aimed to depict the wholesomeness of ordinary objects, and the way they connect us all. I've always been fascinated by the concept of love and how it shapes our lives. Love for our kin, love for our body, love for our partners, love for our work, and above all, love for our self. It's a driving force that pushes us to excel and prosper, and it's what I've tried to convey in my art. My sketches are elaborate and detail-oriented, with a focus on capturing the fleeting moments of life. The lack of color is a deliberate choice, as I believe it represents how all living souls are. The enigma of the art encompasses the vile divisions created by humans in the flesh. Each live soul has the same set of raw, exposed instincts, and inclinations just like any other. They all desire the same outcome from life. I want my art to be a reminder that life is more than just the big moments. It's the small, everyday moments that make up the tapestry of our lives. And it's my hope that through my art, people will find peace and tranquility in the soul, and be reminded of the beauty in the simple things."
