About The Artwork
This is a male. He is so huge, massive, dramatic, tremendous and full metal. Goliathus beetles are not at all like that in nature - they are black and white or white and brown, they have a sheen, but not metallic. And I wanted to make a kind of beetle-dude, with all the show-off, all in body kits. There are brutal men who get tattoos, paint themselves, and this is a tattooed beetle, all dressed up, all adorned with tattoos and piercings, all glistening. It's like tuning for men. This work is part of the Big Beetles series, which perfectly shows the artist's interest, love and admiration for the macrocosm, as well as the desire to reveal this amazing beauty and share it with the world.
