About The Artwork
I spent my winter break in PTown, MA. Drawing at the PTown Fine Arts Center or inviting guys to model in my studio. This guy asked if I happened to be drawing his foot! I was. This meant that I was touching the model with my vision! Visually interpreting the model, his warmth, his thoughts, his center, his space, and even the blood flowing through his body are all being channeled through the medium. This guy polished off my supply of Jameson's! When I draw, I invite the audience into the drawing through an implied line or an implied idea. I believe it gives a sense of gratification and accomplishment to the viewer who is invited into the drawing to finish the implied line with the perfect line that only that viewer can envision. The viewer, therefore, takes ownership of the image through this experience. What a gift a drawing gives when it invites the viewer to participate in finishing it!

2015, I retired and became a Professor Emeritus at Ohio University. I have been teaching Graphic Design, Drawing, Letterpress and Bookbinding at Ohio University for 25 years. I have traveled around the world several times conducting design workshops in the National Institute of Design, India, the Hong Kong Design Institute, Massey University, New Zealand, Virginia Commonwealth University, Qatar, University of the Arts, Philadelphia and the Basel, School of Design. I was a senior designer at The Upjohn Company, and a design faculty at the Rhode Island School of Design. In addition to drawing regularly, I am writing design education books and I am in the process of reprinting my international, award-winning Adleta Perpetual Calendar.
