"High Desert Specter" Drawing

This skull along with many other skulls is residing in my studio. I love this one quite a bit. It's a deer skull that neighbor sold me a few years ago. I love drawing skulls as it is very much like traversing a landscape that has peaks and valleys, crevices and caverns. I love the flat planes and all the stark contrast and textures leaving we a lot of fun drawing and exploring all at once. My drawings are done on a custom made wood panels. Sometimes as I did with this piece I paint a little white on the panel and then sand it off to let the grain show through. This piece is ready to hang. Each original piece I do has a certificate of authenticity included.
