I utilize embroidery as a means to drawing. By transforming the traditional female nude, I hope to evoke the tenacious and powerful spirit I have seen in so many women I know, loved and have lost. Hand embroidered patterns are added to these figures to both decorate and honor the women they embellish. These patterns are inspired by traditional folk, embroidery and other textile patterns found throughout history. Each piece is painstakingly hand embroidered. Enjoy.
