About The Artwork

This drawing is part of a body of work exploring the road as a subject. I did it as a preparatory drawing to the oil one, "Silence". Roads always lead you somewhere even though they always seems to be endless. They’re vast luminous spaces in which we can escape. This road in the winter is inspired by personal
experiences and memories of my homeland. Ready to hang. Comes with an acid-free matboard and a neutral white frame made from fiberboard. Dimensions of the frame 13 x 24,7 in

Born in Montréal, Canada, I worked as a photographer for several years, than in 1995, I moved to Paris France, with husband and our 3 kids. I consider myself as a self-taught painter even though I took a few drawing workshops of live model and still life, and attended Sorbonne’s department of History of Art for a year. Studying the masters fed into my own creativity and inspired me more. I have this constant desire to create something, visual art has endless potential, and each medium it’s own characteristic, exploring these, is part of my creative process, and has become one of the things I enjoy most. Painting is a constant work in progress, I’m always learning and trying things out, and it’s a good way to keep creativity flowing. Sometimes subjects come from unexpected way, it’s the reflection of inner thoughts, it comes from a feeling, a mood, a state of mind, something I sense and that I want to express and share with a viewer. Other times, I let picture scenes and landscapes inspire me, I let it unfold over time, the ones that stick with me, are the ones I explore more fully. I always try to create work that allows people to lose themselves within it, and when it happens it’s very gratifying.
