About The Artwork
"Looking out the Window" is part of a series of 4 drawings inspired by my personal experiences during lock down here in the U.K. I have taken inspiration from my home and its surroundings. How I feel spending time in my home for long lengths of time, and how objects and views can appear differently when we have more time to look around. This drawing is of the view from my bedroom window, looking out onto my next door neighbours and the River Wey with its lovely colourful fields running alongside it. Drawing created using oil pastels and coloured pencils.

Erin Donohoe was born in 1983 in Hampshire, UK and is currently based in Surrey outside London. She was a finalist in the Womankind Art & Illustration Award in 2019, and since then has continued to work with the magazine. Erin is an emerging artist, designer and illustrator. She trained at prestigious University Creative Arts in Fashion Design and in Illustration at Central Saint Martins. As an artist, Erin enjoys reflecting real life scenes through her pastel drawings, by exploring with layering colour and focusing on pattern and detail in her unapologetically naive art style. Through her art works, she wants to create a world where perfectionism is obsolete, and originality is ever-present.
