About The Artwork

Each of my postcards from Puerto Rico was drawn on a morning during our family trip to Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. They were done with Tombow markers and each was something I photographed the day before I drew it. This area of Puerto Rico is outside of the cities and the rainforest was nearby. We spent a full week on the beaches in the beautiful water with near-perfect weather. I took my wife and the boys on a drive over to San Juan where I had seen one of the forts as a child years back. We ended up going to El Morro and took photos by and in these domed structures present throughout them. There were a bunch of iguanas on the stones in the fort too, I think the kids were more into those and the cannons and the jail cells they had than any of the history, but to each their own! Some more details -- The paper is thin and light and the drawings are 8.5" x 5.5", taped to cardstock, and framed in a black shadowbox with a clear plastic protector to shield the art. It will be shipped like this too if you'd like the original.

Artist and Engineer In 2004, Michael graduated with degrees in computer science and mathematics and has held multiple positions in software and systems engineering and technical management. When he was in his 30s, just before COVID started, Michael had a few significant life events that changed his life, his priorities, and his future. He went through a divorce, found new romance, was sick and hospitalized for a few weeks twice. During the course of these events, Michael was able to find his footing and rediscover old interests, hobbies, and passions. Namely, it was time for him to get back into art and music. Michael was enrolled in college again but this time for Fine Arts, Visual Arts (and will be completing his degree in the Spring of 2024). The rest is still being written... :) Favorites: Charcoal, ink, acrylics
