This story is dedicated to the city of Porto, which I once fell in love with during my trip and where I now live. I am fascinated by its architecture and I can wander for hours, looking at the details of its narrow streets - doors, windows, balconies, lanterns, etc. and spy on the life of ordinary people One of these streets is just depicted in the work. Tourist life is in full swing somewhere very close: endless shops, cafes, entertainment. But as soon as you turn the corner a little, you find yourself in a completely different world - you can see that the doors of these houses are not decorations, they open and people live behind them. And now someone walks with his dog, someone feeds the pigeons. Somewhere windows are open and someone's voices are heard from there, as if a song in an unfamiliar language Some houses surprise with their structure, each floor seemed to be built separately, at different times and has some kind of its own design. I also noted this in my work. On the sides there is a frame of more monosyllabic facades, and the middle is like a patchwork quilt and thanks to the terrain, you can see many tiers of houses. The winding labyrinth of the streets of old Porto creates the effect as if each house lives its own life and in its own perspective. The mood is neutral, overcast but not rainy day. This is how I see Porto for the most part - calm, not festive, but cozy The work is done with oil pastels and colored pencils on tinted acid-free paper with a density of 160g/m2 The work comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Portugal
Hi, my name is Anastasiia Potelova and I am a travel artist. I come from a small town in the northwest of Russia - Vologda. Now I live and work with my husband and little daughter in Portugal, Porto. My creative path, long and winding, is not limited to just drawing. I really love doing something with my hands - sculpting, sewing, tinkering. I draw my inspiration from the world around me. These can be the simplest things. Sometimes, in order to ignite a spark of inspiration, it is enough to see just a flower in a vacant lot or beautifully folded boxes in a trash heap. And, of course, nature in all its manifestations really charges me, that's why I love to travel so much and change my place of residence with pleasure. My love of travel is reflected in my art. I prefer materials that are convenient to take with me on the road: watercolors, oil pastels, pencils, charcoal. My technique is lively and fast, etude, without a lot of details. I graduated from the Yaroslavl Art School, where I received an academic education. To this day, I adhere to a realistic style in my works. But at the same time, I do not create in one direction. I really like landscapes, and sketches of people, and still lifes, etc. Creativity for me is a broad concept that means, first of all, creation. To create is wonderful. And if you create something, then you need to share it with the world, not being limited to the city where you live. After all, we live in a wonderful time when borders, especially geographic ones, are blurred. I am happy that I have something to share.
