Usually, when I feel sad, like today for example, I try to do something. I let the feeling consume me, let the cold of the evening wrap me in its cloak, and I try to ignite the fire of this frustration within me. Typically, I create art anytime, because you never know. Because sometimes birds collide with buildings and fall to the ground. Sometimes, the shadow engulfs us in an immeasurable void, and we feel like we're drowning. Sometimes, that's all there is. I have swallowed those thorny flowers, or at least I thought I did, and my insides have twisted. Those flowers dried up my inner self and withered my dreams, as the evening descended into deep silence. But above all, I have swallowed those flowers because I couldn't hold them in my hands. Now, those beautiful flowers exist no more. The sands of time slip through my fingers, escaping from me. I have embraced death as well, swallowed the darkness and every word. Even the good night hasn't been able to devour me. The one who smiles in the end, smiles better, with skin on their bones, a sincere smile free from regrets. Without losing those moments in time, let us seize the flowers, the night, the moments, and the uncertainty, for nothing will remain, not even a memory.

Carlos Jimenez finds his greatest source of inspiration in love and life. His observation of the lives that surround him, which transmit a spark to him, is the essential driving force that moves the artist to bring each work to fruition, using pieces of memories and his heart, sometimes broken, sometimes filled with unforgettable memories. His work is personal and very passionate, reflecting his sense of the search for a truth that may or may not exist. His philosophy is pragmatic, but with esoteric and passionate points of view about the meaning of life and the destiny of each person in the world. A little referenced to Albert Camus, Jimenez accepts the absurd and embraces it. To paraphrase Frédéric Beigbeder, he says, “My problem is that I don't believe in God, but I do believe in miracles.”
