ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Expressive charcoal drawing of running horses - I've used charcoal together with layers of gesso and woodstain to give an impression of movement. I hope to give a sense of the power of the horses and for those looking at it to be caught in the moment. It is drawn on unstretched canvas - there isn't enough space around the drawing to put it on a stretcher, but would look best laid flat and framed behind glass. It would be sent rolled in a tube.

Taking a lot of inspiration from old masters, particularly from the Rococo/Baroque era, I'm especially drawn to the composition, colors & fabrics and like to put my contemporary twist on it. Painting in a very expressive way, abstract elements are explored in these figurative subjects and the spaces in between. Using a variety of media such as acrylic, charcoal, plaster & pastel I'm constantly experimenting with textures & layers to convey flow & movement. Throughout my artistic career I've exhibited widely across the United States, UK & Europe in both group and solo shows, as well as having work regularly published.
