About The Artwork
I use images which are based on common memories, clichés; we think we know them by heart and we see them in our everyday lives. I find this idea quite magical and I want to show them in a different way. I want to mix them with elusive memories of our childhoods, temporality of our own life and the lives of the images. I’m trying to create a universe which attracts and worries the viewer, possibly reminding him of something intimate, well known and yet bizarre; a journey through matter, light and memory. At the same time I interact with the fabric of the drawing by using colored pencils – pastel colors accentuating its short life. I cover large sheets of paper with systematic, almost meditative strokes, creating a vibrating surface and giving it direction and energy. Words speaking of pleasures, sins, purity and memories…They appear as a means of expression, but never for long – very soon they start disappearing in a haze.

Czech born and a world citizen, living and working in London since 2013. I studied book-design in Ostrava in the Czech Republic and fine arts in Clermont-Ferrand in France. I am currently working as a book-binder, co-run an independent non-profit gallery 139artspace and am developing my own and collaborative artistic projects. My practise is closely linked to my personal life. There are no boundaries between me and the viewer. Through drawing, painting and bookmaking I am sharing my internal experiences in work that has the intimacy of a personal diary. Currently I am exploring the subject of motherhood and female energy. The body's transformation, experienced as transition - from girl to woman, daughter to mother - is a central theme in the work.
