This study belongs to the Umbra series of paintings and studies representing an eternal search of life’s meaning by struggling with our darkest self and its’ destructive desires on one hand and an instinctive need to embrace them on the other. A temporary compromise can be reached between our Consciense and Shadow, but when these fragile constructions of commitments and promises fall, here comes a Crisis with an order to Transform. On the wreckage of the old form starts a Resurrection with a Shadow’s energy as a fuel.

I was born in a small industrial town in Ural, Russia. There I graduated from the art school and in the age of 18 moved to Prague, Czech Republic. Now I live and work in Vienna.
