ORIGINAL charcoal study of the original work by French classist Pierre-Paul Prud'hon. Title: “Study of a Male Nude, after Prud'hon” Artist: Jesse Wayne Lord Johnson, MA, MFA, MsE Date: 2015 Size: 15” x 11.2” x .1” Media: Charcoal drawing on a turquoise wash on watercolor paper. Subject: One of the great classical artists, Pierre-Paul Prud'hon was a French Romantic painter who had a great influence on future artists, as well as myself. This study of an original drawing by the master is done with with deep precision and care to capture Prud'hon's beautiful technique of line drawing and composition. The cool sea blue background contrasts nicely against the alabaster youth, creating a remarkable statuesque quality. At the same time there is a sensitivity in the pose that makes the lanquid young man all to human. Shipping: This is an original work of art and will be treated as such. It will be shipped to you unframed, safely protected by professional shipping service. Please contact us with any questions.
