A beautiful "Hirsch" (as deer are known here in Switzerland) standing in the meadow. It's hooves disappearing into the invisible grass. I only draw the animal. Whatever is behind or in front of it, I simply do not draw. It not only keeps the focus on what is really important to me (the animal) but provides for interesting compositions.

"Takbok in die Gras" is Afrikaans (my mother tongue) for deer in the grass. I am a South African living in Switzerland, falling in love with what is Swiss.

Work Rational With my work I aim to make the viewer pause for a moment to admire an object of my desire. I quiet the background and any other possible interference so that the viewer can experience the beauty of that particular object without any outside influence or preconceived ideas. My fascination with these objects lies in their unique detail. I aim to capture as much as possible for the pure enjoyment of the onlooker.
