The Abduction of Europa by Zeus is a famous story from Greek mythology. In the Metamorphoses, the ancient Roman poet Ovid told a similar story of Jupiter, who disguised himself as a white bull in order to seduce the princess Europa and carry her across the sea to the distant land that would bear her name. The story was depicted by Titian, Veronese, Runens, Rembrandt, Matisse, Serov and other old masters, modern and contemporary artists. The drawing is my interpretation of the classic myth reflecting the first moment of Europa's contact with the bull when she is driven by innocent curiosity to a majestic creature.
