"The Flight of the Sky Lanterns" Drawing

Khervin John Gallandez (b. 1992) is a contemporary visual artist from Laoag City, Ilocos Norte Philippines. He strives to connect with his audience through his progressive yet distinct brush strokes of surreal or symbolic subjects. Currently taking Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines Diliman, his main body of works are paintings that were inspired from his visions and experiences in life. This served as a foundation to his creative process to incorporate visual stories in his art. His subjects is usually portrayed in a subtle or vibrant tone often symbolic images to evoke mood is his way of expressing his thoughts and emotions. He works mostly on oil based mediums and his paintings were often done in impasto. Gallandez's work has been displayed in different art exhibitions in various galleries in the Philippines and in abroad, and he has also participated in some of the most notable art events both local and international.
