About The Artwork
This is an ink drawing of a rook that was perched on the fencepost at the back of my garden. It was such a striking and imposing bird, dwarfing the other birds that my garden normally places host to, with a large silver dagger of a beak. I took a great many photos of it, and how could I not attempt to try to capture how awesome it looked in my art? I went with black ink for this one because I thought the drama of the monochrome palette went well with the somewhat gothic style of the rook.
