"Zero Gravity" Drawing

Izoduwa Ero, known as Ized Art, is a Nigerian artist from Benin City, Edo State, now based in Lagos. Her artistic journey began in childhood, but she began creating professionally during her fourth year of a five-year engineering degree. Working with mixed media, charcoal, graphite, acrylic, and colored pencils, she focuses on portraiture that captures and conveys raw emotion.

Her process begins with a feeling she wants to release, combining diverse elements that each carry a fragment of what she wishes to express or leave unsaid, while weaving in the human face. Each work holds a deeper message, yet remains open to interpretation, allowing viewers to connect with emotions even the artist may not have consciously intended.

Ized draws inspiration from her lived experiences, faith, and enduring fascinations such as science and space. Her works have been featured at the Music Meets Art exhibition and displayed on Sherrie Silver's Wall of Art (Founder of The Sherrie Silver Foundation). She is also a recipient of the Da Vinci Mona Lisa award from her secondary school days. Through her art, she hopes to inspire viewers to keep moving forward in life to God’s glory, to feel awe and wonder, much like the feeling we experience when beholding the beauty of creation itself.
