Abudance Drawing

Images of meat and dressed carcasses are featured in art quite often, frequently a favorite subject among generations of artists. Think, for instance, of Peter Artsen's «Butcher's» (1551), Rembrandt's «Bull Carcass» (1655), nine «Carcasses» of Chaim Soutine (1893 – 1943), «Figure with meat» (1954) by Francis Bacon. Perhaps it is related to the fact that the artistic image of meat itself is paradoxical and metaphorical. It is both a symbol of death and perception of satiety and abundance.
