About The Artwork
This is one of three "coffee cup canvases" painted and drawn by Jo during his Sustainable Cup Challenge Fellowship in New York City with the DO School in 2014. In total he made 20 blank canvases, by attaching flattened coffee cups to 12" x 12" squares of particle board. These canvases were distributed to local artists, who decorated them in a variety of ways. The final pieces were shown at the Good To Go launch party at the Hudson Company in Dumbo in May of 2014.

Jo is a born and raised resident of Santa Fe, New Mexico, working artistically with oils, acrylics, pen and ink. As well as being an artist, he is a musician, teacher, and holistic waste management specialist. In 2013 he founded Upcycle Santa Fe to address toxic waste management and promote holistic alternatives such as ecobricks and Ubuntu-Blox. He is often at work with reclaimed materials such as pallet wood and waste plastics.
