Going Somewhere Drawing

This view is slightly lower down the valley from my drawing 'Crossroads' at Ramscombe Farm Reserve. The view is across the Medway Valley, in the foreground is a path that leads down to the River Medway in the middle ground, that then leads the eye to the 'Three Sisters'. This is my name for the two motorway and the 'High Speed' railway bridges, all similar in design. The title 'Going Somewhere' is suggested by the bridges, the boat on the river and the pathway leading you into the painting. Pastel and tinted charcoal are very forgiving media, dry and immediate. I used the softer chalk pastels and for the most part on the side. The tinted charcoal pencils were used for some of the smaller details. The image is very much impressionist with a blue, black stormy sky. The dimensions given relate to the image area, how it is mounted is up to the buyer.
