About The Artwork

colored drawing on paper: ink, pencil, guasch, watercolor. This “metamorphosis” is part of my artistic production "Anatomic Tables", so named by the historian and critic of modern and contemporary art Giorgio Di Genova. The horse is one of the most beloved animals by man, for his nobility, for the beauty of its proportions, for his great personality, a masterpiece of nature. I rapresentated the metamorphosis of the horsesl's body through the interpretation of my artistic research, customized by metamorphosis and by mutation. I began working around this theme 30 years ago, when my favourite works were the drawings, engravings and lithographies. Then, I started to use the body of animals (cow, horse, wild boar, pork) and the human body as pretexts in my creations. In the drawing it is a metamorphosis of the horse's body, as a symbol of perfect balance, natural harmony, beauty, nobility. The design has been exhibited in numerous and exhibitions. Among the most important: the personal exhibition Drawings and lithographs, to the Palazzo Borghese, in Monte Porzio Catone (Rome), 1987; "Metamorphosis" to the Renaissance Historian Palazzo Rospigliosi, Zagaloro (Rome), 1988, with an installation created specifically for my works and for the particular beautiful interior of the building designed and created by the Architect Pietro Bagli Pennacchi. And like my personal exhibition in the famous Palazzo Valentini, in Rome, 1991, with the same installation created by the architect for my works and for the ancient Roman space, in the Trajan baths.
