Norma by Night Drawing

A drawing on blackish anthracite, thin, and gentle paper. Intended as a study for a bigger work, it finally became a surprising artwork of its own. Inspired by the nighty mood of a parking lot at a local branch of the “Norma” food store chain, the work acquired the visuality and feel of a stage setting in the making. So it's Norma by Night, in two ways. Shopping and opera – darkness and light. It could be a work for a collector’s hand made portfolio, to be contemplated at the right moments. It is perfect for a sophisticated hanging in mysterious rooms, too. From fixating and stretching the paper on the drawing board, there is a narrow rim of ecru wet bonding tape around the work. This offers more options for framing. You are also invited to see it as a part of the image – as the author does. The work comes with a passe-partout imperfectly cut by the author.
