Heart Series: No 4. Installation

We will never reach a better life until we can imagine it for ourselves: And allow ourselves to have it. ~Richard Bach. I make ‘Magical Wands’ with Japanese rice paper, threads, beads, crystals and feathers as tools for Self empowerment. With some creative imagination, these wands can be used in personal ritual to 'makes wishes come true.' Two of them have been placed in this piece as ‘guardians’ of the heart. Working with feathers, flowers and crystals in my ephemeral art layouts, I aspire to be as sensitive as possible to how and where they are being placed and how their energy in the form of light, colour, shapes and textures will be felt in the resulting images. My hope is that the reproductions of my ephemeral art pieces can ‘shine a light’ on the often-overshadowed exquisite beauty of our natural world.
