SHE is an invented character that comes from diverse origins. She is a concoction of trajectories in a mythosphere of artifice and adventure. She has drawn inspiration from the decay and growth of Vermont Forests, the symbolic gold in sacred Byzantine iconography and from gold worn as adornment since its first discoveries across the world to signify wealth and power. Her very being has been recycled both in material and conceptually. Helga is a recycled mannequin wearing a bathing suit made out of bark and stands in a circle of gold. She is both fashion and fiction self-consciously dwelling with the supernatural. Like many superheroes who have to prove their worth, her golden 'might' appears superficial, prey to forces where the impossible gives way, trapped by blackened lines of vanity, burdened with neuroses of imperfections and unfulfilled longings all of which become the reasons for her arrival. Helga not only fits some cult imaginary of blind awareness, she poses the 'marvelous' as a secret skin.
