Third of the serie: Self-Preservation is a piece that contains photos of the artist's performance transferred on canvas. As the performance 'Euphoria' exists for identity, sex, politics; a piece created thanks to the performance preserves itself as it has already owned(!).

Split Canvas | Self-Preservation (No:3): Canvas stretcher, performance photos; photographic transfer on canvas, acrylic paint, varnish, rope, polyethylene.

As embodiment of the George Bataille’s philosophy on violating borders, on the opposite side of the traditional painting canvas which puts a fence between space and itself, Otto Batuhan Türker's known specified technique banishes the border between artwork and its architecture, its space. Split Canvas has in-between identity which is not a sculpture and not a painting. Here, Split Canvas destroys the world of meanings which is the system of classification, and vaporizes boundaries between stereotypes. For Bataille, revolution is violating the boundaries. In that point, Split Canvas is the ability of freedom and free identification.
