Blue Landscape Artwork

My method of working is based on materials in the field of textile and environmental art. I collect and preserve, sew and darn new entities from the fragments of abandoned materials. The combining of motifs and objects becomes the realization and meaning, the thing that makes textile art a unique genre of contemporary art. To me, needle and thread are a way to make notes. Fabric is the most intimate of materials; it is closest to the skin. I am not afraid of decorativeness: by the means of abundance I treat the chain of generations, which I belong to. Little pieces of fabric, yellowed laces, old buttons and pearls form relief-like surfaces. I embroider and darn, slowly, stitch by stitch. The slowness of the technique becomes a part of the work.
