Corridor Sunrise Artwork - Limited Edition of 1

Not so long ago, I used traditional techniques and materials to create my paintings and monotypes. Then I purchased an iPad and began playing around with art-making apps. At first, I found pushing pixels around the glass surface with a stylist lacked the visceral joy that I had loved while working with brushes to apply paints on canvas. But the more I explored digital painting, the more I understood its inherent ability to allow me new means of expression beyond my current art creation methods. For example, I can paint in distinct layers, applying color and textures one on top of other layers, then in a moment, move a layer out of sequence, to reveal a serendipitous change in the overall artwork’s focus. Today, I consider myself an artist who uses technology to paint. I paint with pixels, but I paint all the same.
