About The Artwork
"Dauntless" is 8/15 dragons from the "Sun Series". Inspired by a dream of 15 Suns orbiting around the world, and the artist being born in the year of the dragon. Each dragon in the Sun series is given a purpose and auspicious power. "Dauntless", a more masculine and older dragon (from the longer horns), he provides strength and focus which can be reflected in his gaze. With strong claws, "Dauntless" wields power effortlessly. He brings cool and collected energy into his surroundings, hence taking up all the space around him. The artist, Wei, has her own unique and very recognizable style on the legendary creature, the dragon. Through her mix of modern and traditional styles of inking, she builds a bridge for mythological creatures into the modern world. Her subjects are mostly dragons and other animals that have either striking or animated figures, capturing the best movements and delivering a fascinating story behind each creature.
