Happy Fin is a painting series covering diverse ecosystem of coral reef. Happy Fin 6.0 is inspired by swordfish. Like most fish, swordfish are ectothermic (cold-blooded), but, like a rare few other species of fish (tuna and some sharks, for instance) they have organs next to their eyes that actually heat their eyes and brains, improving their vision and therefore their ability to catch prey. Unlike other sea creatures, these fish actually lose all of their teeth and scales by the time they’re adults, and they’ve been seen to bask at the surface of the water, sometimes even jumping out of the water entirely – a behavior called breaching. They have a large primary dorsal fin, and a smaller secondary dorsal fin close to their tail. Limited edition fine art Giclee print size is available in 24x24 inches on Canson Museum Pro canvas and personally signed off by the artist. This gets transported in a tube to avoid damage in transit. Framing options can be suggested and the same can be prepared on request at an additional cost.

Sunil, born in 1975 and a seasoned traveler who has resided in diverse locales such as Gujarat, Orissa, Kerala, Kuwait, Singapore, and Bangalore, embodies a rich tapestry of cultural influences in his artistic journey. His exposure to varied landscapes and traditions has served as a wellspring of inspiration, nurturing his innate passion for art from a young age. His artistic odyssey began with participation in the World Shankar's painting competition, where he explored diverse mediums and forms, laying the foundation for his lifelong commitment to painting. The aroma of turpentine, the allure of vibrant colors, and the melodic strains of Yanni and other classics served as catalysts, igniting his creative fervor. Sunil's artistic expression is often characterized by a penchant for bold and vibrant hues, reflecting an intimate relationship with color that has evolved over the years. While he occasionally delves into earthy tones and subtle palettes, it is the vivid and daring colors that resonate deeply with his artistic vision. Among his notable works in oil and acrylic mediums are "Women by the River," "Illusions," and "In Flight Motion," each a testament to his ability to encapsulate the essence of his culture, traditions, and climate on canvas. Through the skillful interplay of bold and elegant colors, Sunil breathes life into his creations, infusing them with vitality and dynamism. Renowned painter and mentor Arunanshu Chowdhury aptly captures the essence of Sunil's artistry, describing it as possessing "pure aggression, vigour, and personal impact." Indeed, Sunil's work transcends mere aesthetics, resonating with viewers on a deeply personal level, leaving an indelible impression that lingers long after the canvas is beheld.
