About The Artwork

What/who inspired the work? I believe in walking or hiking daily for exercise and decided to illustrate that with this piece of art/collage. What do you hope its viewers will feel/think? I think the simplicity of this piece draws one in only to then see the message and contemplate the value of walking. The way in which the message is illustrated adds to the message - that we journey on a path alone out in the universal elements. The scene is starkly minimalist. Why did you choose the medium, subject matter, style? This is the way in which I am currently working - collage style on wood cradle. This piece has a gold metallic border and the edges of the wood cradle are painted bronze. The background grays are slightly tinted with purple and the moon is bright orange. The piece is coated with glass varnish for a nice look and for protection. 10x10" collage on wood cradle. 8/10" thick. paper collage using acrylic paints. message written on hemp paper. other papers are 140LB acid free watercolor paper. This is ready to hang as is or if desired, a frame could be added.

Welcome to my Saatchi online gallery! I have done many styles of art for several decades, including Asian brush stroke ink painting, and midcentury abstract expressionism. I'm constantly exploring new subjects, materials, and methods. My yoga and meditation practices influence my art style, through which I hope to impart tranquility, peace, and playfulness. My preferred mediums are acrylic, ink, graphite, and watercolor on paper. I love to work on flat, white paper, which gives paintings an effect one cannot achieve on canvas — plus, it affords the opportunity to add a stunning frame. The music I listen to when I create art ranges from Native American drumming to Tibetan and Gregorian chants, Vivaldi, and singers like Leonard Cohen and Loreena McKennitt. Approximately two hundred of my paintings have been sold to people across the U.S., Britain, and Canada. My work has been exhibited in galleries in Colorado and Nebraska. I joined Saatchi in 2023.
