About The Artwork

This female nude takes the shape of a slightly damaged sculpture made from stone which appears to have been tattooed with a vast pattern covering the model's back and arms. The blue used evokes that of Delft or Gien earthenware or Meissen porcelain, as if the human body had become a new support for Decorative Arts. This work is produced in mixed technique on canvas and combines photography, digital composition and acrylic painting (glossy glaze and transparent squares in relief). This is a unique piece. It is framed in black wood (total dimensions: approximately 57 x 37 x 3.5 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
